Additional Photographs

This beautifully built 1956 Mahogany boat by Matthews Boat Co is truely a majestic vessel. All orginal double cabin layout and fully enclosed flybridge for entertaining make is a perfect floating cottage. Three sizable staterooms for overnight cruising and a full galley allow for enjoyable day trips.

The Mathews Boat Works have hand crafted gasoline powered boats from 1890 well into the 1970's. They were the Rolls Royes of their day. Early owners of these quality coastla cruisers included Clark Gable, Carole Lombard and C.E. Ringling of the Ringling Brothers Circus. They were in fact so rugged , dependable and seaworthy that Mathews Boats were used as sub chasers in World War !.

The Mathews water craft of the 1950"s, similar to Dauntless, were the cruisers of choice for wealthy families and several past presidents of the United States. They could be seen moored in front of many estates on Long Island, the Hudson river and Martha's Vinyard. Here in Canada, hockey legend, Bobby Orr owned a Mathews!

At the dock Dauntless is a spacious floating lodge ideal for both casual and formal entertaining. Underway she is very well behaved in the toughest seas with her professionally maintained beefy engines running smoothly and quietly. Some cosmetic work is required to refurbish this boat back to its Clayton Boat Show award winning past. China and cutlery from this very boat is displayed at the Wooden Boat Museum in Clayton.

At $19,900 CAN, Dauntless is a great value, realistically priced to sell in today's tough market. The asking prices you will see on the Mathews Owners website for similar models with the same pedigree range from $60,00.00 to $170,00.00 US.
